VOTERS REGISTRATION KICKS OFF IN OBIO/AKPOR LGA

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has officially commenced the Continuous Voters Registration (CVR) exercise across Obio/Akpor Local Government Area.
This exercise is an important step towards ensuring that every eligible citizen has the opportunity to participate in the democratic process. All residents of Obio/Akpor are hereby enjoined to take advantage of this window provided by INEC to register, update, or replace their Permanent Voter’s Cards (PVCs).
The registration exercise is specifically open to:
1. Citizens who have just attained the age of 18 years and have never registered before.
2. Residents who have relocated from their previous residences and wish to transfer their voting location.
3. Individuals whose PVCs are lost, damaged, defaced, or stolen and require replacement.
4. Registered voters who need corrections of personal data such as names, date of birth, or other details.
5. Registered voters who have not collected their PVCs from previous exercises.
The Council urges community leaders, youth groups, religious organizations, and civil society actors to sensitize and mobilize residents to fully participate in the exercise. Every valid vote counts, and securing a PVC is the foundation for shaping the future of our Local Government, Rivers State, and Nigeria at large.
INEC officials have been deployed to registration centers across the wards in Obio/Akpor to ensure a smooth, free, and transparent process.
Let us all play our part in strengthening our democracy by participating actively in this exercise.
Signed:
Hon. Dr. Gift Worlu
